Last night with the fellas

I made it to Cherry Gap Shelter

My stomach was still a little under the weather this morning.  So I wasn’t sure how well or long today’s hike would be.

After a few miles, the hiking all fell into place.  I felt good,  but my right foot is still numb.  I think I may have figured out why the pain.  When my calf started hurting last week, I must have altered my gait and foot position.  So now I’m dealing with that.  Pain comes and goes while on trail…hopefuly, this too will pass.

I also ran across the man and his dog, Brother Tom and Moses, doing some trail magic at Indian Grave Gap.  He does it as a ministry through Cleveland, Ohio.  I think it was Glencarry Ministries.

It was great talking with him and hearing some of his trail stories.  His only regret is that he doesn’t get to see the fruit of his labor…but some are planters while others are sowers.  All Christians have our own part in sharing the Love of Christ.

Tonight may be the last night with Chipotle and Yogi Bear.  They are doing 25 miles tomorrow to stay at the Overmountain Shelter which is supposed to be a barn with some great views.  I’d love to go…but I’m taking it easier.  It should be 17 for me.

So long to some great people…enjoy your hike.

Awesome that you’ve hung with them for so long! Those guys can put on the miles. You’re rocking it. Too bad you won’t be staying at the Overmountain Shelter. I think that was my first night on the Trail back in 2012. Fond memories of that barn.
    Keep it going!

They were some speedy fellas. Way to fast for me to keep up. Guess I should have slowed sooner then maybe my leg wouldn’t be acting up.
