My experience at a hostel

So this is my experience at the Top of Georgia Hostel…..
I show up hoping for a work/stay unfortunately no go. Didn’t make a reservation so I was the overflow and had to sleep outside.
I pay the 17.50 for laundry, shower, breakfast, and a hammock spot. No bunk for me. That’s fine it’s not like it’s 30 bucks like the rest of my group. It was also cool to get scrubs while doing laundry.

So. Whatever. Free shuttle to town and back. Daniel’s steak house has a 8.80 dollar buffet of delicious southern food. It’s a good time.
Night comes and we have a cool fire and go to bed.
7 am.
7 AM!
I was woken up by the owner wondering who I was and what I was doing in their area.
He goes on and on about how he doesn’t have paperwork for me and how I shouldn’t sneak in. Then he talks about other hostels up the AT and how he can let them know that I didn’t pay and have me banned from them all.
Dude. It’s 7am and this guy is talking about me freeloading and how I’m going to be blacklisted. Anger, confusion, and more anger.
He goes away after a short discussion to go find the missing paperwork. I get up and start packing. Few minutes pass and he calls up that it was figured out and he found my information. No apology. NO APOLOGY for waking me up and threatening me. More anger.
I finish packing up and wait for the shuttle. Other hikers mention how he mentioned he was sorry for waking me. While waiting I run into an employee who apologizes for what had happened. That’s cool. I’m glad she’s sorry that this happened but she’s not the boss and it’s the boss’s apology I want.

Side notes: I’m sorry this is my only trail post so far. I’m not sure what to write but I felt this needed to be told. Just keep your receipts and introduce yourself to the boss when you arrive at a hostel.
Pun-ishment: Why does a chicken coop have two doors? Because if it had 4 doors it would be a chicken sedan.
