Perfection

6/19/22

Not used to The Cold. Have to toughen up, eh? Stiff body will gradually limber up. Have to remember to eat as I watched chattering ground squirrels, soaring ravens, listening to The Quiet.

Shoving food into my gullet, I wished I were a plant, to photosynthesize and make own food. Mammals have to expend energy to eat. Seems like a waste of time. I pondered evolution.

Bright sun back-lit spider webs, pine cones, plants; heavy grass heads leaned, Columbines, state flower of Colorado, wildly bloomed, insects droned.

Sipping steaming coffee, inhaling piney air, staring at the impossibly blue sky, grateful for nature, I wept.  How silent, indifferent, inter-connected. Perfect.
