Night 6: She’s Like The Wind

I asked the guys if I could pitch near them, said “holler if you need anything” and dove into my sleeping bag. Slept until about midnight, when massive wind started pummeling the tent.

I held onto the hiking pole tent pole like  Mary Poppins on her umbrella, except way more stressed. Inner and outer tents billed and swirled, slapped me in the face. I worried the pole would break the tent would fall down on me (this did happen on a nippy night in Killington VT).

Light made it a bit better, but there was no more sleep. I dragged myself up and out into the wind.
