A Thorough List of Outfitters on the Appalachian Trail

As the gear aficionado, I feel responsible to inform my fellow dirty hikers of the places to get gear on the trail! Surprisingly  enough, the lack of an official online list of the outfitters on the trail astounded me. Sure, only when I delved into the depths of WhiteBlaze (I know, I know, it’s a vortex) I found a few lists, opinions, and even an update about a new outfitter for the hikers of 2014!

I proudly announce the list of outfitters either on or a hitch from the Appalachian Trail.  If you currently possess an Appalachian Trail handbook or guide, these outfitters are highlighted with more information. I also have only provided a list of outfitters related to the backpacker or hiker. There are other outfitters near the trail which cater to water sports, hunting, and biking which will not be included in this list.
