10 Motivational Quotes from the Pacific Crest Trail

Not every day on the Pacific Crest Trail is easy.

Some days you will be uncomfortable, tired, in pain, dehydrated, freezing cold or just plain bored. You will of course experience some of the best times of your life on the trail, but this inevitably goes hand in hand with some extreme lows. In these moments you may find yourself severely lacking in motivation to keep going.

While hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, and since returning to the UK, a lot of people have told me that they found my 2650 mile walk to raise money and awareness for mental illness was very inspiring.

I read a lot of books and blogs by people who have done incredibly inspiring things and I am a sucker for a good motivational quote. This got me thinking – if I’m such a source of inspiration then why aren’t people quoting me?

I’ve been reminiscing and looking back through my old PCT blog posts and I’ve decided to turn some of my thoughts from the trail into motivational quotes.  Hopefully this will inspire some of you to get out there and do the incredible things you’ve always dreamed of doing but never found the drive to do so.

So here is some inspiration from the mind of me, Charlie Knight, about some of the various challenges you will face on your thru-hike.

Charlie, thank you for that post, I think humor is the best way to face an adventure like this. Doing the AT this year and really can’t wait for all the funny moments nature will provide me with

Thanks Rebecca! I agree – so many little things went wrong but these things just make for a much better story and a much more eventful adventure. Good luck with the AT next year!
