Meet the Bloggers: Kelsey and Cody Thru-Hike the PCT

Hey folks! We’re Kelsey and Cody and we’re getting stoked to start our NOBO thru-hike of the PCT. Welcome to our blog!

Neither of us studied writing nor excel at the subject so we’ll keep our posts short and sweet with lots of pics for your viewing pleasure.

A little about us:

Kelsey graduated college in 2015 without a clue of what to do with her life. Therefore, she decided some time in the woods would do her good. She thru-hiked the AT in 2016 , then up and moved to Seattle afterword with no desires to thru-hike again (HA!). That changed after the first hike in Washington which got the wheels turning for a thru-hike of the PCT. An opportunity to hike the JMT in 2018 sealed the deal and now here we are, almost a week away from our start.

Cody just finished his military service and what better way to celebrate than a long walk in the woods. We met in Seattle, WA 2+ years ago and have been adventuring together ever since, our latest being a move to Kentucky. Though we don’t miss the city we certainly miss the views and easy access to the network of trails surrounding Seattle. Now we have an excuse to walk by… along with enjoying the other 2,649 miles.

We’re super excited to get to do something so cool and the fact that we get to do it together is even cooler! We both love the great outdoors , cold adult beverages, and views that rival the most prestigious Instagram posts. This will be our first thru-hike together and we will be doing it with a lot of combined gear. It will be  fun learning  all of the ins-and-outs that come along with sharing our new moveable teeny-tiny house. We’ll be back soon with our gear list. We’re glad we were given the opportunity to introduce ourselves and we hope you enjoy our journey!
