Goodbye Baltimore, hello PCT!
We’ve moved out of our house in Baltimore! Everything is in storage. We’re doing it!
Nick and I moved in together in Baltimore last December. I didn’t get too much of a chance to the explore the city, but it’s been nice. My highlight was the Patterson Park Community Chorus – shoutout to all of you lovely chorus folks and Heidi!
Honestly, moving was a beast. We had way more stuff than I realized. Nick’s family helped us move, which I super appreciated. They met us at our house, loaded up the truck, and moved our stuff into storage. We all went out to lunch at a yummy vegan spot afterwards. Thank you all so much!
We took a one week beach vacation with Nick’s family in the Outer Banks, which was lovely. It was a much needed break from the stress of moving and preparing for our journey. I had an excellent time relaxing on beach, biking around, and spending quality time with Nick’s family.
After we got back, we had a few days with Nick’s family before we flew out to California. We spent that time moving our remaining items into storage, including visiting the same yummy restaurant, tying up lose ends, and visiting his younger brother, sister-in-law, and niece (the cutest baby ever).
Tomorrow my mom will drive us down to the trailhead!!! I’m not even nervous anymore. These past few weeks have been such a hustle preparing for this trip. I am so freaking ready to get out there. I’m looking forward to my only responsibility being walking. No packing, no work, no nothing. Just walking.
