Hiker Heaven on the PCT Is Officially For Sale

It’s official: Hiker Heaven is up for sale. After 22 years of generously hosting hikers in their Agua Dulce home, Jeff and Donna are moving to the Washington Upper Olympic Peninsula in 2020 and will be selling Hiker Heaven. For anyone who doesn’t know, Jeff and Donna Saufley are longtime members of the hiking community. They have hosted PCT thru-hikers in Agua Dulce, CA, for 22 years, with dozens of hikers passing through every day for months during the summer thru-hiking season. Donna and Jeff have been wonderful trail angels in the PCT community, providing a well-established hostel for hikers to rest, launder, feed, and resupply. They are heavily involved both on-trail and in the online hiking community.

NOTE for 2019 SOBOs: Hiker Heaven will be open for the SOBO season this autumn (Sept. 1 – Nov. 30, 2019)

The Saufleys would like to sell Hiker Heaven to someone involved in the hiking community who would be interested in continuing the thru-hiker hostel, so if you know anyone who might be interested, please let them know that this opportunity is available.

Even if Hiker Heaven remains open under new ownership, it seems likely that changes will be made. Future PCT thru-hikers should stay tuned for updates as they make plans for their 2020 thru-hikes, and don’t assume that Hiker Heaven will be the same, even if it does remain open.
