Besides a few last items, I think I have everything I will need to hike the 2,650 miles through three states, seven national parks, and 27 national forests! Here is my gear list:

I appreciate your dedication to the TentLab Deuce of Spades, but I doubt you need 2 of them. (Under kitchen.)

In its place, consider a small knife of some kind, either an ultralight folder or even a razor blade in a holder. If for no other reason, you will have some packages of food to open which may not tear easily.

You probably also want at least one method of lighting a fire and/or your stove. Even if a stove a built in lighter, I wouldn’t count on it.

Given the openness of some areas of the PCT, especially in the desert and snowfields, you may want some sunglasses to cut down on the snow-blindness and sand-blindness.

I would encourage you to take some kind of a compass. Good luck on your hike!

I started out with Big Agnes Fly Creek 1 around 5 years ago or so and quickly discovered that the vestibule is a PITA to climb over your pack in the middle of the night when nature calls. I quickly swapped it for the UL2 at REI, which is only 4oz heavier and gives plenty of room to store my pack inside the tent. This also keeps the pack dry in even the worst of storms.
And (haha) there’s a 3rd trowel under Hygiene.
    Great fun sharing your excitement!
