The Final Farewell

The week leading up to my departure was bittersweet. I said many good-byes.  Yet, what was so interesting about each one, deep down (while difficult in different ways), they felt right.

It’s my time to leave. There is zero doubt in my mind that this adventure is happening at the exact right moment.

From my sickness, to my birthday celebration, to packing up my entire apartment, to natural endings of certain relationships, I’m not going to say that I handled them all with grace, but what matters is that they were handled.

The final farewell

There really is no choice but to trust the process, no matter how ugly, special, difficult or easy.

Lessons that I intend to apply to the trail over the coming months. I know I will be challenged: physically, emotionally, spiritually.   Everyday, life has a way of doing just that, and I believe trail-life will offer the same. After all, the trail IS my life for the next 5 months.
