Thru-hiking season is in full throttle on the #PCT! And there are some great photos floating around thanks to all the hikers out there! Unfortunately, if you are reading this right now, you probably aren’t out on the trail (thanks for reading if you are!). Good news, this is the next best thing!

If you’d like to be featured, we search Instagram for great photos with the hashtag #PacificCrestTrail, #PCT and #PacificCrestTrials (our personal favorite) and select a few standouts each week for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s some visual splendor chock full of the insta-greatness we have all been waiting for. The following photos were taken between 8/15 and 8/21.

I unexpectedly ran into a couple of dudes on top of Dick's Pass last night just in time for sunset. I happened to be snap chatting on the edge of a cliff while dancing and playing some music when I heard someone yell HEY!! And I thought I was totally busted. I turned and yelled hey back and low and behold he didn't even know I was there. He was yelling to his other buddy. I walked over while he was cooking dinner. He offered to share some of his hot food with me after I told him that I don't carry a stove. I was happy to allow it. We proceeded to enjoy and laugh the evening away as the sun faded behind the mountains. Even though I stopped a few miles short of my goal to hangout with them, it was a nice change of pace to make some friends on the trail. Now, I do realize that the last picture that I posted from my PCT hike was while I was hiking between Mt. Whitney and Forrester Pass. It's like having a stack of files on your desk and with every picture I take the stack of files keep getting taller. My apologies for making you all wait so long for all the goodness I've been enjoying. I assure you I will share it all in due time. And trust me, I have some absolutely incredible photos to share of the Sierra, particularly from the Sierra High Route.

"The most dangerous risk of all. The risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet that you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later." One of Cap's favorite quotes that stuck with me. In Northern California we were lucky enough to hike with the awesome guys from the @packingitout crew. (If you aren't familiar with them or what they aim to do on trail I suggest you check out their page! #pct2016 #pcta #pctig #pacificcresttrail #pacificcresttrials #hiking #backpacking #thruhike #thruhiker #adventureanywhere #awakethesoul #wildernessnation #comforttheory #anywherewild #goatworthy #thegreatoutdoors #myfeatureshoot #hikelighter #aldhawest #untrackedexperience #bpmag #trailchat #takemebackpacking #fstoppers #somewheremagazine #theadventureproject
