This Week’s Top Instagram Posts from the #PacificCrestTrail

Thru-hiking season is in full throttle on the #PCT! And there are some great photos floating around thanks to all the hikers out there! Unfortunately, if you are reading this right now, you probably aren’t out on the trail (thanks for reading if you are!). Good news, this is the next best thing!

If you’d like to be featured, we search Instagram for great photos with the hashtag #PacificCrestTrail, #PCT and #PacificCrestTrials (our personal favorite) and select a few standouts each week for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s some visual splendor chock full of the insta-greatness we have all been waiting for. The following photos were taken between 9/12 and 9/19.

Oh Oregon.. You were supposed to be flat and easy but instead I've never wanted to quit a trail as much as one or two weeks ago. It started out with a lot of unremarkable miles through the forest and an unruly belly that turned out to be giardia but luckily the views turned more exciting and my belly less so eventually. Except gorgeous volcanoes, Oregon will be remembered best for its wonderful people though. All the people who gave us rides (including the 100 mph ride on the truck bed of a pick up from at toothless man and the lady regaling her encounters with bigfoot), Jordan who took in two smelly hikers who happened to turn up at his place of work, John who showed us around his awesome house he built himself and of course @rubaduedoi and her husband Dennis, who very generously gave us a ride when we ended up at the wrong post office and then invited us over for a wonderful dinner and to spend the night! Thank you all so much! #pct2016 #pctig #thruhiking #trailmagic #trailangelsrock #pacificcresttrials

I did my best to capture this trail through my eyes and while at times seemed impossible I'm happy I gave it my all. After four and half months I finally reached the northern terminus of the PCT and am currently in Canada. My feet hurt like hell and my body aches but I wouldn't change a single thing about the journey. While we hiked the final 500 miles in 19 days I still was able to enjoy the most magnificent section of the entire trail, I guess that's the benefit of living life at 3 mph. I'll be getting the rest of my film developed here soon and posting some photos in the coming days, thank you for the support! See you next year on the CDT. ????? ?: @cheesebeard_hikes #cdt2017 #pct2016 #pcta #pctig #pacificcresttrail #pacificcresttrials #hiking #backpacking #thruhike #thruhiker #sony #sonyimages #a7ii #adventureanywhere #awakethesoul #wildernessnation #comforttheory #anywherewild #goatworthy #thegreatoutdoors #myfeatureshoot #hikelighter #aldhawest #untrackedexperience #bpmag #trailchat #takemebackpacking #fstoppers #somewheremagazine #theadventureproject
