‘Twas the Night Before Campo

‘Twas the night before Campo

When all through the hotel

The creatures were stirring

Awaiting the alarm bell

The packs were loaded to the brim with care

In hopes that Mother Nature would not give us a scare…

Tomorrow’s the big day! It’s finally here! WAHOO!!!

We’ve spent the last week roaming around Arizona with Mama Bear Wendy. We’ve been getting used to this dry desert air and getting our bodies in sync with the three-hour time change. Plus working on a nice base tan (tee-hee). We spent a day at Roosevelt Lake and got to see where the Arizona Trail goes through (hmm, very interesting) and went on several little awesome hikes. It was a nice way to get acclimated.

Round Mountain with Mama Bear Wendy

Today we drove about six hours and had a brunch break in Mesa, AZ, with Cody’s friend Brad. Sup Brad! We’re so thankful to have so many people reaching out that want to see us at some point along the way. It feels pretty cool to know we’ll be so far from home yet still able to see so many friends and family.

Dudes and dogs. Brad makes a mean b-fast sammich!

We’ve basically had a mini vacation before starting the trail (thanks Mama Bear Wendy). Nothing to complain about, that’s for sure. Now it’s time to lace up the big boy/girl shoes and get to walking. A big thank you to everyone who’s helped us along the way and those who will be lending a helping hand in the near future. See ya soon!!!
