This Week’s Top Instagram Posts from the #PacificCrestTrail

While it may not be thru-hiking season, there are still some lucky people out on the #PacificCrestTrail! Unfortunately, if you are reading this, you’re probably not one of those few people making the trek. But that means that hopefully you’re preparing to take it on later this hiking season!

If you’d like to be featured, we search Instagram for great photos with the hashtag #PacificCrestTrail, #PCT and #PacificCrestTrials (our personal favorite) and select a few standouts each week for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s some visual splendor chock full of the insta-greatness we have all been waiting for. The following photos were taken between March 12 and March 19.

Who else can identify with cheesebeards comments here? The Sierra is a place to take your time. Instead of hiking in the Sierra, I prefer to stroll or saunter without a care in the world. How bout you? “It wasn’t always easy making the miles in the Sierras. You could get lost in the scenery, and a break could end up dragging on much longer than you intended. Next time I’m there, I will be going at a quarter of the pace that I went through there on my pct thru hike.#pct2016 #pcta #pctig #pacificcresttrail #pacificcresttrials #hiking #backpacking #thruhike #thruhiker #sony #sonyimages #a7r#adventureanywhere #awakethesoul #wildernessnation #comforttheory #optoutside #goatworthy #thegreatoutdoors #myfeatureshoot #hikelighter #rei #untrackedexperience #bpmag #trailchat #takemebackpacking #johnmuirtrail #somewheremagazine”

Hiking above the clouds was a treat every time. Watching the fluffy blanket roll through, then revert back was memorizing. When we’re below the clouds we think it’s dark and gloomy and cold. But we forget that the sun is still shining. :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: #mountainlove #moutainlife #mountainlovers #earth_escape #IAmNature #mountainlover #theoutbound #optoutside #bestofbackpack #lonelyplanet #lonelyplanettraveller #werehikers #NationalTrailsSystems #ItsAllYours #photographersinthewild #HikeThePct #fantasticearth #wildernessplanet #fabletrails #exploreourearth #pct #pctig #PacificCrestTrail #PacificCrestTrials #angelesnationalforest #anf #SoCalHiking #HikeCalifornia #DesertHiking #CaliforniaDesert

Vortexed super hard at Timberline… plan was to get in and get out after the bomb breakfast buffet…. annnnnnddd then several hours later and a few beers later I finally hiked out half a mile at sunset, camped on a ridge, just to get heck out of dodge. Woke up the next morning to this. Why, hey Hood! While there are not many people on the trail right now, there are a ton counting down the days for their trek to begin. This week, I loved seeing the #throwbacks, but more importantly the #pct2017prep! So excited for the Class of 2017 thru-hikers to get started!

Remember, if you want to be featured use #PacificCrestTrials (fav), #pct2017 or #pct2017prep.

For those of you still prepping, don’t forget your copy of Pacific Crest Trails!
