This Week’s Top Instagram Posts from the #PacificCrestTrail

Thru-hiking season is in full throttle on the #PCT! And there are some great photos floating around thanks to all the hikers out there! Unfortunately, if you are reading this right now, you probably aren’t out on the trail (thanks for reading if you are!). Good news, this is the next best thing!

If you’d like to be featured, we search Instagram for great photos with the hashtag #PacificCrestTrail, #PCT and #PacificCrestTrials (our personal favorite) and select a few standouts each week for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s some visual splendor chock full of the insta-greatness we have all been waiting for. The following photos were taken between 12/03 and 12/11.

And then there was Stehekin. And Rainbow Falls. Annnnnddd of course the Stehekin Bakery. On trail I must have been told about the bakery from EVERY nobo I passed but no one said a thing about the falls. Got on the bus to Stehekin and some weekenders asked to stop at the waterfalls on the way into town… and woah!!!! I loved the way folks talked to eachother on trail and we're soooooo EXCITED to share information about the amazing journey they were on. We were all connected to one another and the land in which we walked- and that built this incredible caring community where we could be real and honest and felt safe to share and shed our walls. It's incredible where the path will lead us if we stop to talk, make connections with people, and share experiences. I know the PCT led me to many amazing places and most importantly people because I made the time to connect, listen, and share. And I look like a munchkin in this pic and I'm okay with that. #pct #pctig #pctsobo #pacificcresttrials #pacificcresttrail #stehekin #washington #pnw #rainbowfalls #thruhike #thruhiking #waterfalls #girlgetoutside #getoutstayout #getoutside #sheroams #sheexplores #exploremore #outdoorwomen #girlgetoutside #adventure #explore #exploremore #makeconnections #peoplewhodofunstuff #peoplearerad #lonelyplanet #earth_escape #iliketohike #doyouliketohike #munchkin

Day 146: Reflection Almost five months ago, our father dropped us off at the northern reaches of Washington state. Socked in amongst the clouds and dense conifers, we began our journey in faith, having almost zero backpacking experience to date. We were naive–the trail would prove to be far more demanding than we anticipated, but also far more spectacular. For 146 days we decided that we would pack up camp, put on our damp and dirty clothes, and continue onwards, neither one of us ever mentioning a word about quitting. And, even though hiking 2,650 miles still seems like a completely ridiculous notion, 15 more miles sounds a bit more manageable. To Washington, Oregon, and California, you have been positively unforgettable, but tomorrow… Mexico!

With winter approaching, it’s looking like less and less hikers are out on the trail! That’s okay! I’ll start following those of you who are training for next year! So use #PCTtraining2017 to be featured. And of course, if you are on the trail, don’t forget to use #PacificCrestTrials and #PCT2016!
