Hi! My trail name is "Fireball." At the beautifully young age of 49, my adventures are many, but only just beginning. It all began with a couple of solo-bikepacking trips across Canada, coast-to-coast. These trips were the portal into a somewhat-secret and magical world of joyous simple living, multi-level discovery and exhilerating empowerment. After the bike rides, the love affair grew and morphed to include backpacking. Since then, I have thru-hiked the Camino de Santiago (Spain), the Ozark Highlands Trail (Arkansas, USA), the Traversée de Charlevois (Quebec, Canada), the Nipisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail (New Brunswick, Canada), the Cape Chignecto Trail (Nova Scotia, Canada), the Bruce Trail (twice) (Ontario, Canada), the GR10 (France) and, most recently, the Lone Star Hiking Trail (Texas, USA). As well, nearly every Friday in the Spring and Autumn, I am off to Algonquin Park for weekend backpacking trips. Happiest when I'm moving, this summer I will be hiking the GR5 through the French Alps followed by the Tour du Mont Blanc, also in the French Alps. Check out my YouTube channel @womaininthewoods13. As well, I have written and self-published two books; "Flip Flop Fantasy" and "Look Ma, No Hands." I am excited to be blogging for The Trek this summer!
