The Shenandoah Park to Front Royal

We left Staunton/ Waynesboro on Monday. Entered the park and encountered smaller more gentle climbs. We hiked 3-20+ days then a couple days of a bit less. Made it through over 100 miles in 5 1/2 days.
Weather was good to start then we hit some rain and cold on Thursday and Friday. We didn’t see too much wildlife in the park which was surprising but we had a few good views from the tops of the mountain s.
The park has a series of markets throughout which were great to see at lunchtime.
We stayed at the Mountain House Lodge on Thursday which was a beautiful old lodge.
We’ve been seeing more people than we expected during our hike which surprised all of us.
Saw and hiked with the English couple Ripple and Clouds for a stretch and met Mountain Goat at the Lodge. She was getting off for her daughter’s graduation from college.
Came to Front Royal on Saturday and was glad that the hot tub was in working condition. That was a pleasure.
Plan is to hike 4 short days to get to Harper’s Ferry and we have a hostel stay booked for Tuesday night.
Might get some rain but hoping not.
