There is a Cornell in Wisconsin?

Milkshakes on our mind.

We get woken up by geese, a rooster and a beautiful sunrise. A little earlier than perhaps I would have liked but there was no ignoring these calls of nature.

Consequently we have our earliest start yet and are on trail at 6:30.

The day has lots of little hills and boardwalks. The boardwalks are mostly needed because of beaver activity and are often along side beaver dams. Some are a little wonky and unstable but still better than walking across the beaver dam proper.

In the afternoon we follow a grassy two track to the Chippewa river segment. After taking a few photos of the sign which mentions the Chippewa river we start the scenic walk along the river. We admire it and then Little Bird asks what river this is. Uhhh… the Chippewa river? She had a blonde moment and I can’t stop laughing.

We have town fever and don’t take many breaks so when we get to town we’re both pretty beat. We find Dillan’s Dairy and have a late lunch and ice cream. Yum!

Then it’s off to the air bnb for a well deserved rest.
