Katahdin

Short for Mount Katahdin, Maine, elev. 5,270 feet. Baxter Peak, one of Mt. Katahdin’s two peaks, is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, but hikers more commonly reference “Katahdin” than “Baxter Peak.”
