Hey y'all! My name is Oats (Katie) and I got bit by the thru hiking bug last year when I thru hiked the Appalachian Trail. It would be an understatement to say I had a good time; the Trail gave me a family. I started hiking with my partner Legs in New York and even picked up a pup in Virginia that we named Thru. I also worked for the Volunteer Program for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in 2018.
This summer, Legs and I will be yo-yoing the Colorado Trail. He will be hiking SOBO from Denver on July 1 and I will support him every few days in our Toyota Dolphin, a small camper. When he reaches Durango, we will switch and I'll hike the 486 miles back to Denver with Legs as my support. Did I mention we also have two furry adventurers, Flynn the Great Dane and Thru the Siberian Husky? A thru with a twist!
