VOTE for Your Favorite Thru-Hiking Documentary!

For most of us, work, school, finances, and family often get in the way of constantly thru-hiking. These periods in-between adventures can sometimes be the hardest, but there are a plethora of thru-hiking documentaries available for days when the trail seems a little too far away. Netflix, Amazon Prime, and even YouTube have documentaries seemingly covering every long trail and ranging from amateur and intimate, to professional and inspiring.

We recently sent out a poll asking you about your favorite thru-hiking documentary. The people have spoken, and we’ve narrowed it down to the top 12. Vote for your favorite documentary from our finalists, and watch out for an upcoming article as we announce the winners in the upcoming weeks.

Hi! My name is Colleen, but I'm better known on the trail as Spot. I am a PA native who now calls the mountains of Colorado her home. My days are spent as a graphic designer and photographer, but I spend every available minute of my free time outside. A few years back, I discovered the AT and since then it has been the #1 thing on my mind. Since 2016 I have hiked over 1,000 miles of the trail, with plans to some day stand on top of Katahdin with all 2,200 miles under my belt. You can usually find me somewhere in the mountains either hiking, skiing, or rock climbing. Happy trails!

    It’s really hard to pick between Dixie’s AT documentary and Flip Flop Flippin’. Loved them both so much.
