My first hiking experience was a little over a year ago in Arizona. I reached the top of Humphreys Peak as a storm was rolling in and fell in love with the beauty of it and the freedom I felt. I've often dreamed about it, but never imagined I would actually embark on a long distance hike. Last month I resigned from my job, packed everything away in storage, and I'm now heading off on a Southbound PCT thru-hike. Life seems way too short to not follow where the heart leads. I've trained hard, prepared myself mentally as best I can, and eagerly await whatever the PCT has in store for me.
