Hi, my name is Kevin, and I’ve got “Georgia on My Mind.” That will be my only music reference. This die-hard movie guy will start the Appalachian Trail on April 25th. I will be a recently retired (as of April 23rd) middle school Special Ed teacher. When I’m not getting up to go to work, I’m getting up to hike some of the most beautiful trails in Marin County, California, and currently, the Sierra Nevada mountain range. My siblings are taking bets on how long I will last, but I will not let their pessimism deter me. Hey, if Frodo and Samwise can walk for 13 months to Mount Doom in bare feet, eating just bread, how hard can hiking to Mount Katahdin be, right?
