I'm a professional ski instructor in Washington state. I've hiked and climbed extensively in the Northeast and New York. My son Tarren is a middle schooler, and expert skier, and snowboarder. He's been doing this since the age of 2. He will be home schooled on the trail. We plan on leaving mid July and heading south from Mt, Katahdin. I've wanted to do this since I graduated from high school in 1976. We are taking a season off skiing go do it now at the behest of Tarren who said we should do the PCT. This came about last year when we hosted the PCT hikers at Guye Cabin at Snoqualmie Pass, WA.
