100 miles and counting……

So we are 100 miles in.

Stopped in Franklin, NC. Have met some great people, suffered a below freezing night last night and lots of rain, but some great sunshine as well!

Views pictures could never capture the true beauty of and wishing my photographer friend could let me borrow his talent for a minute to create a priceless masterpiece of the beauty before my eyes at almost every turn. Words and pictures just cant capture this.

Working our way up from a start at 5 miles a day to almost 15 per day, and learning to love the steep climbs, feeling stronger and more confident each day, however the bald mtn tower outlook climb can make a soul want to cry with white blazes stacked vertically the trail is so steep.

Learning we do not like pasta sides as most hikers reccomend, rice sides are ok but pasta is nasty. Meat sticks and protein bars are a good friends for hunger, so is sweet candy for energy bursts during long climbs. Working to keep protien high and feed our bodies well so our bodies will work well for us.

Looking forward to visiting new friends at the hiker breakfast at First Baptist of Franklin in the morming and heading back out to winding stair gap to continue the Journey
