Thanks for this episode! I’m going to do the CT as my first thru this summer so this was really helpful for me.
just listened to your podcast on the CT and really enjoyed it. At the beginning Chaunce had some questions regarding he up-coming AT hike. Specifically food storage. First, I had no idea there was a bear problem on the AT, heck I did not even think there were bears on the east coast! As a long time camper in bear country in the west I never hang my food, I use an ursak and oder proof bags. Some food for thought though would be some recent posts by Andrew Skurka on food storage. Chaunce you might find them interesting.

Just listened to your podcast about the CT, very interesting. Chaunce you had some questions regarding your up-coming hike of the AT, specifically food storage. As along time camper in in the west I never hang my food, I use an ursak and oder proof bags. I never knew there was a bear problem on the east coast!
