JOHN MUIR Trail, here we come!

Muir Hut

After ditching the AT because of COVID in 2020, I’ve been itching to do a long hike. The time to hit the trail again has finally come. With a bit of luck on my side, I was able to snag a permit to hike the John Muir Trail this summer!

We leave from Yosemite in early July and will hike the 200 miles to Mount Whitney in 20 days. We’ve already nailed down the travel plans — flights reserved, hotel booked, and rental cars confirmed. Now it is on to the good stuff. Follow along as I test my gear (and my endurance), prep my food, and plan the day-to-day hike of the John Muir Trail. Then join me as I start the JMT on the Fourth of July weekend! There will be fireworks, calliopes and clowns!
