One month till gr5

Only one month to go. The tension rises. I can’t wait to start hiking. At the other hand, am I ready for it? The campings for the first month are reserved. A bid nauseous I realise from this point ford I can’t back out.

My room is packed with resupply boxes. My closet taken over bij all the snacks. Ready to get sorted in per week. I’m still waiting on the last resuply’s. I’m missing about three weeks of food. But I’m getting there.

Resupply boxes

It is not only my food that seems to be everywhere. Last week I went to buy all Appies food. With a shopping cart packed full of food and wallet a lot lighter we left the dog food store. Last task at hand will be dividing all the food in separate bags to put them in the boxes. Four bags per box. Two for each side of Appies backpack, two for mine. They will rotate into Appies backpack when it is empty.

The food part is not the only part that is almost ready but not entirely there yet. I’m still waiting on the last gear items. It’s been more than a month since I ordered my camera bag. Coustoms says they will be looking at the order two days ago… But with still no news the status update is questionable.

Not only that but a few weeks ago my trusted hiking boots decided to give up on me. After having searched a long time for fitting boots, the disappointment was high that they failed so fast. So the search for new shoes restarted. This time around I was more lucky tho. It only took two tries to find a pair of fitting shoes. With two blisters on my heals I start the proces of walking them in.

Talking about walking. Only one month to go and I’m only starting to walk long distances again after I had an operation. This month will be in theme of getting back in to walking shape. I’m enjoying ever walk, and each time I look forward to the gr5.

So am I ready for it? Not yet… But I will be
