We have only 140ish miles left of the desert and are beyond excited to move into some new terrain. We’ve looked ahead at the rest of the desert and we have some verrrrry long water carries coming up. Let’s hope they’re all easy peasy!

Humor is a great companion on such an arduous journey?! We look forward to new terrain pictures (and more critters). Our AT Trail Magic was once again successful at Bake Oven Knob in Pa. We hosted 20 hikers Monday and 25 more on Tuesday! One of them said their buddies were on the PCT with you guys somewhere. Keep up the good work and trek on!
A few of us at BCAS are keeping up with your adventures. What an amazing journey!
Thanks Sloane!!! Missing the critters and people of BCAS a bunch!
I’m sure you will be super happy to have the desert behind you! Love your blog and your statistics!
You have a lot of followers cheering you on! Keep on trekking! ?
Would you consider sharing some of your cold soak recipes?
Hi Ann! The main things we cold soak are our morning breakfast shakes (consisting of Breakfast Essentials by Carnation, dehydrated milk, and some sort of protein powder) as well as Ramen noodles for lunch. Another thing we’ve started doing are buying bags of granola and soaking them with dehydrated milk, protein and water. Lots of calories and pretty filling, good for any meal really!
We cook our dinners but are always trying to think of new lunch and breakfast ideas for quick cold soaking. The instant potato’s work well for cold soak as well.
I wish we had some exciting fancy cold soak recipes but we’re really about super easy meals that are quick and high in calorie and protein content!
Love the numbers aspect. Stats is stats!
Enjoyable humorous insights with your blog!
Good vibes for you two and put the desert behind ya.
