I'm back! Last year I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. I started as the girl I had always been and left as Birdie. It was the best thing I have ever done. It may be the best thing I'll ever do. Every aspect of the trail was hard and made me feel heavy, but it was also the closest I've ever felt to freedom. It was the most alive I have ever felt. It is intoxicating. It is addicting. That being said... I am thru-hiking the Camino De Santiago next month!

Hell Of A Hike

I Completed The Damascus Marathon!
May 8th of 2024 I completed the Damascus Marathon on a whim. I had just spent the scariest and longest afternoon of my life hiking through a lightning storm on a ridgeline (I know how stupid this was and I was appropriately scared knowing the idiocy and danger). I hobbled into the Iron Mountain Shelter wet, scared, and exhausted. It was in the hours that followed that I not only learned what the Damascus marathon was but I was also convinced to do it.
