Hi! My trail name is "Doctor Za" and I'm on a three-year quest to hike the Triple Crown by my 65th year! I thru-hiked the PCT in 2022, the CDT in 2023 and this year I take on AT. Thru-hiking has great challenges and rewards, especially for someone in their sixth decade, and I write about my experiences to encourage other seniors to get out on-trail so to find awe, grace, and gratitude. My first blog entry tells my journey from despair and hopelessness to resolve and determination continue my quest and make myself ready for the CDT in 2023.
