Hey Stranger!|A Short Intro to CDT Hiker, Mouse

Mouse in Oregon on the PCT circa 2018

Hello Stranger!

My name is Mouse and I’m attempting to thru hike the Continental Divide Trail this year. I’d love for you to join me on my approximately 3,100 mile journey from Mexico to Canada. I’ve previously completed the Appalachian Trail in 2014, the Pacific Crest Trail in 2018, and the Benton MacKaye Trail in 2023. I call the southern Appalachian mountains home and when I’m not on trail, I’m working as a registered nurse.

So, Why Should You Bother Reading My Blog?

I’m thrilled to be blogging my thru hiking experience this year through The Trek! So, what are you in for? I’ll be letting you in on all the juicy details and ends and outs of trail life. I’m a vegan of over 14 years and I’ve maintained a vegan diet during all of my hiking adventures. I’ll be sharing how I manage my vegan lifestyle on trail. And, I’m always trying to make my pack a little lighter while on still maintaining a budget.

What Else?

I’m also queer and femme/nonbinary. If you’d like to read more from those perspectives, you’re in the right spot. I look forward to sharing my experience with you! It’s going to be a great year on the CDT. See you on trail, friend!

    Hey Mouse,
    Best wishes on your trek.
I live in northern NM and can provide support in the Cuba area and thereabouts. Email your needs in advance of your approach and I’ll see what can be arranged.

Old white boy, but very excited about your statements, both alignment and journeying.
Hoped to summit Rainier one day, but now I’ll have to live through your adventures.
