Often mistaken as salamanders, these little guys are actually the eastern red-spotted newt. They take on this bright orange color during their juvenile stage as they move onto land traveling from pond to pond. They are actually aquatic in their adult stage where they trade their vibrant appearance for a darker green complexion. Photo courtesy of @theplateletwalker.
