The Day I Wondered … Hmm? ๐Ÿค”

Location : Between Sugarloaf and Summerland Key

Ending Point : MM 32.1

I’m walking past the hellaciously well built fencing again.ย  The advanced state of deterioration of some posts makes me wonder if the damage hasn’t been caused by mold, mildew, or fungus, but rather by termites.

If you have a definitive answer to this mystery, or even an opinion, please let me know below.

Another Hmm … Moment

This is the second time in my life that I’ve encountered a situation like this.

It may be difficult to see — and believe me I looked, but there is a brand new walker sitting beside the bus stop.

In what universe is this possible?!

Believe it or not, this is the second time I’ve encountered something like this.ย  At some point over the past 10 years, my wife and I attended a street festival in Baltimore, MD.ย  After ducking behind one of the vendors stands we discovered a man’s walking cane.ย  It was a very nice cane, weathered through years of steady use.ย  ย Losing your car keys or sunglasses is one thing.ย  But I didn’t understand it then — and I don’t understand now, how a person can lose either they’re walking cane or their walker.

I guess this is the universe — out of all the universes that are hypothesized to exist, for those crazy types of things can happen.

I’m a black chick born and raised in Queens New York though over the last 30 years I’ve lived in the suburbs of several states I am a camper and a hiker.

That’s from dear antlers.. That’s why people put chicken wire like fencing around the base of the tree to protect the trunk. Helps with beavers too.

      Wow, thanks Exroot!

There are extensive deer “reclamation” projects in this area, so what you’re saying makes sense.

      Thank you … HW.

Deer want live food or grain. Deadwood seems to only attract beetle larvae or termites, but termites don’t like the outside. The only time Ive seen skunks chew wood is when someone has peed on it alot (aka Outhouse) where the wild animals like salt. I’d say some type of beetle larvae.
