The One About Early Birds And Worms

Date: 1/12/24 — Day 11

“0” Day Count = 1

Location: MM 88.4

Starting Point: Coconut 🥥 Cove Resort ⛵, MM 86.3

Weather:

Last night I made it to the Coconut 🥥 Cove Resort ⛵.  The resort’s grounds are lovely, especially for the price I paid.  The facilities, rooms, etc. show their age and proximity to the open ocean, which demand sustained high maintenance levels.  All that to say… I liked the grounds better than the buildings on the grounds.

The current manger and her husband live at and run the resort.

The major drawback to this location are the frequent notices about “Additional Fees” or “Fines”.

If you like the views, the price, and do not find the punitive fee notices off-putting, this might be a great location for you.

Getting An Earlier Start

Now, let’s get to “the early birds and worms” title selected for this blog post.  Some nights I can’t sleep.  On a couple occasions this year, I’ve hit the cool, early morning road.  I keep an alarm set for the local sunrise minus two hours.  This morning it went off at approximately 0525.  I should have gotten up to beat the heat, but I didn’t.

Now I’m sweating bullets under Florida’s unblinking mid-day sun.  Tomorrow, I’ll try to do better.
