They have Taco Bell Cantinas on the CCT!!! What, I didn’t even know that was a thing?

South San Francisco awesome little city

I hit the road at 7am as I had a big walk ahead of me. (26 miles) My plan was to make it to Francis State Park. At some of the state parks they have what is called hike and bikes. If you hike or bike into the park it’s pretty cheap. This park was only $7 to camp. So I was on a mission. However, thrrr was no way for me to know what a cool town South San Fran was until I started hiking. I even happened upon a special Olympic police torch running parade!!!

Hey teachers out there. Read the plaque above.  What a guy!!!

Look at what Rue Randle Clifford did on horseback for his students!!!

Ever wonder if you are on the right path?

When I saw the sign, and it was the same exact message on my shirt, I felt I was definitely on the right track. In fact, this entire trip has been nothing but endless perfect happen stances. Serendipity at its finest!!!

Pedro Point and Devil’s Slide- 3 things that make these places special!!!

First, it looks like a really fun surf spot one that I could actually surf, but maybe a tad bit cold  Second, it has a Taco Bell Cantina…. I didn’t even know this was a thing!!! Third, I met my first trail Angel of the day. As I was contemplating going up one section of the highway, as it was a little narrow, a bike rider stopped to speak with me. He asked are you going to go up? I said I think so. He said we can do it together. I have a light on the back of my bike and I usually walk the steeper hills. I said let’s go. That was the fastest hill I have ever hiked. As we came to a tunnel he told me that his google map said to take a right instead of going in the tunnel. I wasn’t quite sure but I knew he was put on my trail to guide me. We ended up going on an older part of the highway 1 known as devil’s slide. Turns out it’s a newer addition of the CCT.  Thanks Dave!!! It was an amazing part of my hike today!!!

I found another hike of the CCT, a guy on a horse, and love-scapers!!!

Just happened upon this hike on the CCT. It was really fun!!! It was cool seeing a guy on a horse. Also, I met these 3 interesting people. One of which, was a former principal from Venezuela, who is now retired, but working for Lovescaping. It’s a program run through schools. I just looked it up online, and it sounds really interesting. Maybe when I get back, I will reach out and learn more about the program.

I just thought these were cool pictures!!!

Just some cool stats of the day!!!
