And I thought I was excited before…
We’ve had twelve thru-hikers (including my brother) stay with us in the past month or so!
It’s been really really fun hanging out with so many awesome people and it makes me that much more excited to hike the trail next year. Our house basically became a hiker hostel and it’ll be one again next summer when myself and my future tramily stroll through New York. I keep telling my parents we should get one of those signs made that has an arrow pointing one way that says x-miles to Katahdin and an arrow pointing the other way that says y-miles to Springer. My dad and I saw someone making them at traildays 2015. I’m trying to convince my mom to let us paint a blue blaze on the house but she won’t let me 🙁 We already have a hiker box and a log book and my dad wants to try and get a stamp for the AT passport. We might be a little obsessive but the AT and the people who hike the AT are awesome so who cares!
The first two hikers to stay with us were Vino and Refill. Then we had Firefly, Eleven-Thirty, Skywalker, and Smokey. Then Jukebox and Little Heater. And finally Mama Cheddar, Dusty, Snickle Fritz, Pocket Biscuit, and Firefly again for another night. My brother’s tramily is very cool. They all wrote in our logbook that they were thankful for staying here but I have to say that I’m very thankful they stayed with us as well because they all gave me great advice for my hike next year and made me feel like I was part of their tramily. It was very fun hanging out with everyone and I can’t wait for next year!
