Day 105: Over 3/4 Done!

Day 105, 8/11/23

Stratton Pond Shelter to VT Route 11/30

10.5 miles, mile 1,659.1

I’m so happy to be home again tonight. We had a yummy dinner of mac and cheese and kielbasa. I got laundry done, food packed up for the weekend, and laid out pants and some warmer things for when I’ll need them in the next couple weeks.

The hiking today was, shocker, muddy. We are officially over 3/4 of the way done though! There was a pretty viewpoint, though, which was nice. It was super windy and cloudy the majority of the day, and then when we were waiting for Dad the sun came out. Last night it poured for a couple hours and then let up. My tent was soaked through the bottom and was still wet in the morning because of the humidity. Thankfully, I dried it out once I got home.

When Dad picked us up, we stopped by my Grandparents’ house because we drove right by, and I miss them a lot. It was so nice to get a hug from my Grandma and Grandpa and visit for about an hour. The drive back home was beautiful; we went through Chester, VT which is an adorable little town. Fritz was very excited to see me and he got lots of pets and a hug from me. It will probably be another week or so until we are able to come home again, and by that time we will be in NH!
