Hiker Intro – Bryan Vanetten/Sonic Boom
Introduction
Hey everyone! I’m Bryan, going by Sonic Boom while on the AT (more on how I got this name later). Originally I am from the DC suburbs of Virginia, followed by a stint in San Francisco. For the last six years I have been living in Seattle, Washington.
Why do I trek?
There is something to putting one foot in front of the other and reaching a goal. For me one of the most satisfying elements of walking the earth is seeing the gradual change and details of the world around you.
As much as I love having access to a car and being able to zip from A to B, there’s a certain peace to going places step by step.
Walking time also gives my brain the ability to process everything, and has enabled some interesting thoughts to be generated along the way!
