Last Minute Thoughts and an Intro

The Metaphorical Cliff

Well, here we are, within a week of starting the proverbial big one. The final days before living in the woods for half a year. It’s scary to be on this side of it all. It feels as if you’re standing on the edge of a cliff over water. You kinda have an idea of what you’re about to jump into, but can’t really perceive much beyond the surface of the water. And you sure as hell can’t back out, but geez when you’re looking down it can be pretty nerve-racking. It’s all worth it once you take that leap of faith and experience something truly beautiful that the world has to offer for you. That’s what hiking is all about, living on the edge of life.

And A Little More About Me

I’m Dr Poptart. I hope you’re here to read about some crazy Wizard stories or even just a glimpse into a hiker’s day to day.  I thru-hiked the Pinhoti in the Spring of 2023 and have been interested in the AT for almost three years now. I’ll also be traveling with some instruments. Also, fair warning now, I am a big fan of photographing bugs, so you will see some on here. I appreciate whoever you are to take the time out of your day to read this post. See ya on the Trail. -DP
