Two Days In, and the Experience Is Incredible

What’s up, you guys!

My name is Matt F. and I was born and raised in the Northeast but I’ve been living and breathing nothing but sweet South Central Texas air for the past seven years. To learn a little bit more about me visit the my vlog playlist on The Trek’s YouTube right now.

On to the AT.

Here I am, ready to take on the AT and all its glory.

Day one kicked off on April 2, 2019, and I managed to get myself a good 17 miles from the beginning of the trail.

Most of the people I met in my first night were on their second or third day already so I was feeling confident.

Got up and did it all over again, and now I’m a good 30 miles out from my start at Amicalola Falls.

I can’t tell you guys how incredible this experience has been at only two days in.

I feel alive, I feel free. I feel the most me that I have ever been and that’s the high I’m running on right now.

I can’t wait for a new day to dawn; let’s get this bread y’all.

(Fun fact: My little sister, Olivia, will be the co-writer/editor for my blog posts and videos while I am on trail so I am not responsible for phrases like “let’s get this bread.” Please pay her no mind)

See you guys soon.

You guys can follow me here and watch my journey unfold.

Let’s do this.

Matt F.
