The TRAIL finds your name!

The FORMER Shrek, now is MOUNTAIN GOAT.  With the wives present at the ceremony Wednesday night, Shrek became MOUNTAIN GOATWhy you ask?  Where his brother and to some degree his niece, either openly despise or simply don’t prefer rocky terrain….Mountain Goat flourishes in rocky trail….deftly hopping from one outcropping to another without fear.

Earlier in our travels, Scout changed to Greyhound when it became apparent that scouting was not exactly her thing, but speed WAS & IS!  She’s simply fast.…which is what everyone Northbound tells me as they pass me…..”Greyhound was MOVIN” they’ll say.

Finally, this blog’s author started out as Bandanaman….a fitting name due to his dozens rotated in and out during hikes.  The trail decided enough was enough (read earlier blog “An Easy Hike Gone Terribly Wrong”) and Chopper was born to the trail.  Chopper is a trail earned trail name. Bandanaman was NOT.

For any current or future hikers, don’t be in too much of a hurry to stick to a trail name…….the trail will pick it for you.

Pictures were created by Jackie Johnson and faces were generically created.  Any resemblance to real people is purely coincidental.  Thank you JJ;)

Today’s hike is History, Tomorrow’s Hike a Mystery.  Right now is a Gift, which is why it’s called the Present!

We’ll be at Roan Mtn. @ a B & B/Hostel (Mountain Harbor). They’re supposed to have a crazy good breakfast! Short day tomorrow….19+ today….long day. We’re in the 390’s from start of trail in GA. More than 1/2 way there to our SB destination. Seems crazy.
