Trail Community
I wanted to take a few minutes while I was stuck inside of The Grove Hostel due to some weather to recognize some of the great trail experiences from the previous three weeks.
– First, and foremost, shuttle drivers are incredible. My first experience from North Springs to Amicalola was with Mountain Trail Shuttles. Bandit offered a comfortable ride and great conversation.
– The staff at the Amicalola Visitors’ Center helped me in the initial stages of my pack weight issues. The suggestions and insight are top notch. By the way, I’m now under 40lbs with a full food supply!
– The hostels have been great! Actually, better than great! We’ve stayed at Above the Clouds, Around the Bend, and The Grove. All have been top notch!
To sum this up, everyone that I’ve dealt with since Day 1 have all demonstrated that they care about our success as hikers. They all want to see us succeed! The hiker community couldn’t function without the unwavering support from the trail communities and businesses.
