Don’t Forget to Look Up, and Be Thankful

If you’re already on the PCT, starting the trail soon or planning a big adventure in the years to come, don’t forget to look up and appreciate all the people who have or will help you pursue this goal.

The trail will drain you mentally and physically, but you must always remind yourself why you’re walking. Is it for the views? The people? The challenge? Transitional period in life? Whatever it may be, don’t forget to look up and reflect on what brought you to this point.

You’re choosing a path that many might not understand. You’re putting in effort most people never will to see wonderful views and experience an unconventional life. Don’t forget to look up and witness things most people never will.

You’ll discover new muscles and aches in your body. You will swear at the rock that tripped you or the water cache that’s dry. You will hit rock bottom, then have your spirits lifted by magic found throughout the trail. Don’t forget to look up and be thankful you’re living
