This Week’s Top Photos from the Pacific Crest Trail

Pacific Crest Trail | Canada to Mexico • I was born with bilateral club feet and told by many orthopedic surgeons that I’d never be able to do something like this. There were days on trail that were severely painful, and from the beginning I vowed to allow myself some grace if I wasn’t able to make it all the way. Reaching the southern terminus of this trail introduced me to the razor’s edge between great sorrow and greater joy. I had walked to Mexico. I walked to Mexico! What’s most important to me here is that I take this opportunity to thank the people in my life who grew me into the strength and confidence to walk thousands of miles alone. My gratitude for the tears, pain and joy of this experience resides beyond words; these have been some of the best days of my life. • I want to thank everyone who followed the blog, helped with my resupply, gave me rides and sent cards and care packages. Special mention to some fine folks who kept me elevated during the toughest moments out there: My parents, @brady_diana @lorabaileey @elevatebalanceakm @is_this_a_joke @snowybeach3 @jjmcmeow @annduhamel @chandani7141 @symingn @nw_rosey @cynthiawithafork • And just for the record: There are rumblings about the future being female, but I think we ought to call bullshit. Female is now, female has always been. Let’s lift our girls high. • Vaya bien
