The Day I Woke Up In A 1950’s Lodge

Date : 1/4/24 — Day 3

Location : Sugarloaf Lodge, Sugarloaf Shores, FL

Starting Point : MM 18

Weather Forecast …

Whoa!  Those rain clouds weren’t there yesterday!  Who’s been rain dancing?  Who requisitioned — let along authorized, rain!

Not this guy.

But, I have one suspect …

Tuesday night, a camper in the adjacent campsite — a woman — and it’s always a woman, absolutely came out of her skin when informed I didn’t know where’d I’d sleep last night.  Turns out, I was destined to sleep at the Sugarloaf Lodge.

With that backstory covered, let’s get to the story.

Not only was she incensed about my lack of a hotel itinerary, not having a 7-point plan to avoid getting rained on ignited stage 2, sending her into orbit (think: Saturn V rocket 🚀).

Well, about that, “What will you DOOoo if it RAIIINS⁉️” question.

Have the feeling that later today, I’ll find out.

Note : “Get wet” was not an acceptable answer.

About the blog’s title, the Sugarloaf Lodge is a fine place.  Haven’t figured out how the original 1950’s furniture in room 414 survived 70 years of hurricanes 🌀, coastal flooding, and other unplanned vicissitudes.
