Mike & Kathy 2019 Appalachian Trail Thru-Hike Vlog #3 (Kathy’s Clothes Review Gone Bad)

In my newest video, I (Kathy!) provide more information about some must-have sleep system items and  clothing I’m taking with me to start the AT. Watch the full video for some laughs and to find out what my favorite color is!

For any couples hiking together, we love having the Zpacks Sleeping Pad Straps to keep our sleeping pads together, and the NEMO Mambo Du Slipcover to keep our sleeping bags from sliding around. Both items are worth the extra weight!

For my staple clothing items, I’m bringing the Kuiu Peloton 97 Fleece Beanie for chilly days and nights, and a 250 Merino Wool top and bottom to sleep in at night.

I’ll wear Darn Tough Socks, a Smartwool Base Layer T-shirtSmartwool Quarter-Zip Top, and a Columbia Silver Ridge Lite Shirt to hike in every day. I love Smartwool and will need it to keep me warm in the early months on the trail. I’m also going to bring an extra pair of Ininji Toe Socks to rotate!

For my top layers and rain gear, I have the Patagonia Houdini JacketPatagonia Torrentshell Jacket, and Patagonia Torrentshell Pants. The Patagonia Down Sweater Hoodie will provide a top layer of insulation. Finally, I’ll be wearing Vasque Breeze III Mid GTX Hiking Boots to get me started on the AT!
